The City of Tanis (tennis)
The connection between the City of Tanis and the Ark of the Covenant is primarily rooted in popular culture, specifically the film “Raiders of the Lost Ark.” However, there are also some historical points to consider:
Raiders of the Lost Ark portrays Tanis as the location where the Ark of the Covenant was hidden after the Egyptian Pharaoh Shishak allegedly took it from Jerusalem. This fictional depiction significantly increased the recognition of Tanis in popular culture.
Historically, there are accounts of the Egyptian Pharaoh Shishak (Sheshonq I) invading Jerusalem and taking treasures from the Temple of Solomon.
But just where is the City of Tennis located?
